    DSI III Outback cooler

Does anyone know if there is a problem ordering the DSI III outback cooler?? I put a order in 7 weeks ago and tried emailing Steve with no answer back several times?? I've read old posts on yahoo about a problem with the ability to cool the chip properly, maybe this is the delay. It sure would have been nice if Meade would have done there own cooler, don't know many ccd camears that don't have some kind of active cooling?? CHEAP!!

    Hi, Dave

I think Steve usually goes on holiday about this time of year - I bet you will hear from him soon.

The problems were worked out a year ago - I had one of the problem units first, which he replaced. The new unit works fine, although the design causes it to report a different temperature than Envisage does. It does do the job.

Thanks Chuck for the info, I'm realizing how nice it would be to stabilize the temp.

They are well worth the money, IMO. Especially this time of year. The warmer it gets, the more closely the temperature has to match for the darks to work properly. You will save hours & hours of time taking darks, and will get much better & more consistent results with the cooler.
