Autostar II to Windows Vista 32

Hi,

I have a new LX200-ACF 12" telescope and can't get my Windows Vista laptop computer to connect to the Autostar II. I called Meade and they said that Autostar II does not work with Vista. Is this correct and if so, is there a workaround?
