optical path problems?

Hi Everyone
I am using a Meade LX200GPS 10” I bought new. I have had it several years now and have always used it with a CCD camera. First with a Meade DSI Pro, then DSI Pro II, and currently a SBIG ST 2000XM. I have used both the Meade 3.3 and 6.3 focal reducers with various spacers. Now for my problem.
Depending on the field size I am using I get what I will call the vegnetting shadow. This shadow does not bother me as I can deal with it with my flat field. What does bother me is that it is not centered in my field. It is always off to the right side and slightly down. I have checked my collimation many times. I have slewed the scope south, north, Zenith, with no change looking for flexure. I have rotated the camera with no change. The only thing I have found that makes it change position is to rotate the Meade 1209 Microfocuser. I know of no adjustment that can be made on these focusers. So does anyone know of a problem with these focusers are what I can do about it?
PS – I have tried my best to insure the focuser is straight on the back. It is held in place by 3 set screws and I keep thinking maybe it is being drawn up crooked by the set screws. I have thought of checking the gap with a set of feeler gauges but have not done so. I just believe my optical path is not centered on my chip.

I have a vixen super poloris mount and I was wondering if the axis drives for the EQ5-4 would fit it as the look very similar

Problems connecting autostar via network using Windows7

I can not connect autostar to my my LX200 scope using Windows 7. I am able to start the netscope application and to have it listening. But when I try to connect Autostar using the option Protocol-Autostar via network I got always an error message. Does anybody have suggestions how to solve the problem?

Automating scope control and imaging for multiple objects

I have an LX200 GPS and am using autostar suite/envisage to control this and my DSI 2 ccd. I would like to use this combination to start a basic supernova search programme, without the need to purchase numerous other software. Is there some front end application that sits in front of autostar suite and envisage, that allows you to both input a list of objects and which then slews the scope and takes an image of each using user defined paramteres.

I was looking at ccdsoft/sky6/orchestrate to do this as its tried and tested, however it would be great to use the resident Meade software to achieve the same, plus it ould be somewhat cheaper.

Anyone any suggestions

Just for your imformation I talked to Meade. The manual for the latest envision 7.06 is on their manual page under "DSI III". As I understand it it works for all the DSI series and the LPI. Don T.

2 problems with ETX 60 AT

I am having two problems with my telescope that I hope someone here can help me solve. I have the 506 cable and when connected to the telescope, I can send commands through the remote handbox in Autostar Suite, but I cannot get the program to connect to the scope to control it. The other problem is when I am trying to align the scope. The owners manual says to get to the "home" position you have to line up the small arrow with the "0" on the left fork (when standing behind the scope) of the scope. The picture in the manual shows the scope level, but when I line up like it SAYS to do, the scope is slightly elevated. Needless to say, I am confused. Any help?

Does anyone know of a source or know where I can find an adapter to use a standard 1.25" diagonal on a Meade ETX90 or ETX125? Scopetronix use to have them - they seem to be gone.

A&E engineering has them but has no clue on how to deal with US orders.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't add photo to gallery

Hi,

something is wrong.
When I try to add a new photo in a gallery (I tryied in Nebulae gallery) in the "New photo" page when I click in "add" button, instead of opening a window to select the file in my PC, it opens a window "Control Panel, My galleries"
Does this happen only to me or is it a web site problem?

Meade Capture View Binoculars

I have a pair of Meade Capture View binoculars. I believe them to be model CVB1001. They are 8 X 22 with a digital camera built in. My problem is that they will not work on Microstation Vista. Vista will not recognize them as a device because there is no Vista driver. Customer Service suggested I try here for a work around. Can anyone help?

Start Netscope network server automatically

Hello to everyone.

I am searching how to start Netscope network server automatically on the PC startup. Starting the program is not a problem (putting it into startup folder) but the problem is:

I need to have the program LISTENING without checking the "listen" checkbox manually.

Is there something like a command line parameter or an entry into netscope.ini file to get the program listening automatically at startup?
