Is there a way of centering the crosshairs (other than guessing ) on my adjustable eyepiece? I want to use it to polar align but I dont know how close it is to centered.
Thanks, Gerry
Gerry,
I would put it in the diagonal with the crosshairs as close to centered as you can get them by eye. Then put a star on the cross and rotate the eyepiece in the diagonal. If the reticle is centered the star should stay in the crosshairs as you rotate the eyepiece. If not adjust as needed.

Thanks, That makes sense. I may just have to adust the scope and the eyepiece to figure wich one is not centered.
Thanks again,
Gerry
Tried it out and it worked great.

Yep I agree.
Gerry.
What kind of reticle eyepiece do you have. I have an Orion 12.5 mm Plossel Illuminated eyepiece and the reticle doesn't seem to be accessible without extensive dissasembly of the eyepiece. Just curious.
Thanks, Paul R
Paul,
I have Meade Series 4000 9mm 1.25" Plossl Illuminated Reticle (Wireless).
It comes with an adjustable reticle.
