    LX90 custom rate Units

Can anyone tell me what the custom rate units are?

I'm guessing arcsec/sec so 14 would be sidereal.

Also during autoguiding does program use 67% of this custom value?

    thanks

    Gday John

For standard Firmware ( ie *** Seymours patch for finer tracking rate isnt applied )
Custom rates are 0.1% adjusts relative to sidereal
    Lunar is 35    ie   sidereal * 1.035

Autoguiding uses the converted rate multiplied by the guide rate
You quoted 67%, but guide rate is also settable
so it uses whatever you have set.

    Re: LX90 custom rate Units

    Thanks andrew

I've read on this site that the LX200 guide rate is settable and its default is 67%.

    Is this 1.067x sidereal?

    I took this 67% x sidereal or 0.67

I see no settings for the LX90 unless it by the custom rate?

is the custom typically used for autoguiding adjustments?

Re the LX200, the "guide rate" is settable and 66% is the default
    This means  Guide := Sidereal +/- 0.66*Sidereal

I am not absolutely sure on the LX90 ( as 99% of my time is LX200s )
but i believe ( based on old notes ) that it is hardcoded to 50%

The Custom rate is always applied, so is only useful for underlying tracking rate errors
Guide rate is only used when the speed is set to 1 and a move request comes in
via the serial comms or HBx.

Actually, lunar is -slower- that sidereal, so that should've said
    Lunar is -35    ie   sidereal * 0.965
    ---------
and Guide Rate is -not- (casually) settable in the 497
My (admittedly faulty) wetware memory says that it's 67% of sidereal.

Occasionaly i have my patch kits include an option for setting the rate
to some fixed number -other- that 67% (the last person who wanted that
    wanted 10% of sidereal)

    have fun
