    Auto Adj overexposure

    Hi All,

I finally got out with my new additions to my telescope family.  I have a LX-90 (classic), 3.3 focal reducer, meade autofocuser, 90 degree element to my LPI.

There was a crescent moon, jupiter available in my site.

Using the Envisage program (Autostar Suite 5) I was able to point at both objects, but could not either using auto adj or manual get the images to quit over exposing.  I could never make out any elements of the moon, jupiter I got to a sphere, but could not get any detail.  I ran a couple of imaging sessions against jupiter.  On the first attempt, I could actually see bands on jupiter then the program crashed (sadly nothing saved).  On the second attempt, I did capture a white sphere and two smaller spheres which assuming they are not artifacts should be two of Jupiter's moons.

Any more experienced recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Re: Auto Adj overexposure

what i do when taking images of Jupiter with my DSI is uncheck the box next to the shadow enhance, and then click auto exposure, as the program starts to figure out the correct exposure, you'll see jupiter appering, just stop the progress and manually bump it up or down, until you dont get any over exposure on the image, only issue i have with doing it like that, is i cant get the moons to show up in the image, hope this helps
