Cocoon Nebula, IC5146, Caldwell 19, in Cygnus. Mag 7.2, nebula 10'x10', 3,300ly, Espin 1899 (O'Meara)
Orion ED80, WO .8x reducer / flattener, imaged at f6 (3.6 arcseconds per pixel image scale.) with a DSI Pro II, Outback cooler (CCD Temp 12.5deg C) 13nm Ha filter. 12 x 8min exposures.
Captured with autodark with Envisage, registered and sigma combined in Astroart, post process in Photoshop, Astronomy Tools, NeatImage, GradientXT.
Note: I was trying for an Ha sG OIII with this objects, as APOD/NASA indicates this is an emission (as well as reflective and absorption) nebula. However, several nights of attempting to image through a 13nm OIII filter proved that no or little data was passing the filter. Interesting.
I will add RGB to this image when the moon is hiding once again.
