Messier 42 - DSC-C in regular color mode - Reference image for prior posting of M42 OIII

Messier 42 - DSI-Color Alt/Az 12.4 minute exposure

Reference image as a comparison to my OIII exposure.

See the M42 OIII prior image posting for complete discussion of using the DSI-C in monochrome mode for
special filter exposures such as OIII or Ha..

Equipment/settings: Sky Watcher 80mm@f/5. baadar ir filter, v-block filter, Outback Cooler@10C.

Settings: 186 x 4.0s = 12.4 minutes total exposure time, gain=85, offset=50

Perhaps this can help you decide if it is worth using the DSI-C in monochrome mode for special spectral response imaging ?

Tom
