• Re: Frustration with Meade QA and Customer Support

It's hard to disagree with your points. However, since they were ostensibly made as a reply to mine, I'd like to suggest that they don't address the issues I raised about Meade and its dealers. I'll try for greater clarity now. For Meade to ship a scope with defective optical back threads, then for Meade Customer Service to ...

  • Re: Some Envisage software issues

Thanks for the response, Chuck. So, it sounds like in every functional sense, the LX200 Classic works like the LX200GPS/Autostar with the AutoStar Suite. Don't quite understand the remote server app business, but I'll investigate. Thanks again. Jim

  • Frustration with Meade QA and Customer Support

I'm interested in relating some of my experiences with Meade QA and Customer Support, hoping to discover means by which Meade can be encouraged to do a bit better. • New forum for software and documentation issues?

Although it's clear that many folks are having success with the DSI and AutoStar Suite, it's equally clear that there are software and documentation issues. Would it be desirable to have a new forum for use in bringing these to Meade's attention? Is there already a better way?

  • DSI USB Protocol

I've developed a program in C++ for Linux that accesses a database of objects, controls a LX200 Classic and performs various image processing tasks including stacking with registration and derotation. I'd like to include image capture for the DSI. My interest is entirely noncommercial, as I plan to post this program with ...
